I HAVE SOME CRAZY DREAMS. Some are because I ate sugar before bed, but some are also from the LORD. Last night I had a dream from the LORD. I walked into my home and we had taken in someone to live with us who had a pet snake. I don’t do snakes. I hate snakes. I HATE snakes. In my dreams, they always refer to something evil and demonic. This snake came right at me and I broke its neck and threw it outside. It wasn’t dead, but it’s neck was bent and it kept looking at me through my glass sliding door and tried repeatedly to get back in. I began to pray about it this morning and this is what the Lord revealed: we let wrong thinking, evil thoughts, bitterness, jealousy, etc take up home in our mind. Some thoughts originate with us, some with the enemy and others we let someone else bring in. In my dream, it was someone I knew. We let that serpent take up residence in our “house”. I broke its neck, but it didn’t die just kept trying to get back in. You’re going to have to do some spiritual battle against those serpents. That wrong thinking wants to take control of your mind and it will keep coming back until you kill it for good. Paul tells us “Cast down imaginations and EVERY HIGH THING that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing EVERY THOUGHT to the obedience of Christ” 2 Cor 10:5 You’re going to have to do some warfare: steadfastly resist and reject evil and unwholesome thoughts in the name of the Lord Jesus! That ol snake is persistent. Remember that we overcome our adversary by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of our testimony and by persistently saying, “NO!” to the devil, temptation and sin. Stand on God’s Word. Resist the devil and he will flee. Don’t let that snake live in your house!
IS THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT PRESENT IN YOUR LIFE? Scripture clearly teaches that Christ wants His followers to EXPECT miraculous deeds as they announce the gospel of the Kingdom of God. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:17-18 We don’t follow these signs, but these signs should follow the disciple of Christ. These signs occurred in the early church and are intended to CONTINUE UNTIL JESUS RETURNS. Christ’s followers are not only to preach the gospel of the Kingdom and bring salvation to those who believe, but we are also to demonstrate the POWER of the Kingdom, just as Jesus did by driving out demonic forces and healing the sick. Remember Jesus said, “Greater things will you do”. Where’s the GREATER things? The world has hijacked the gospel and the vision of the church. We are not a social club. Jesus did NOT come to give equality and set right the injustices of the world. He came to set us FREE from all the works of the devil, and we are to continue His mission. We are to push back the darkness with HIS LIGHT and LIBERATE the captives of the devil! Come on Saint! Die to self. Be alive in Him. Give that power away!
I HAVE NEVER SAID, “DON’T JUDGE ME.” Mostly because I don’t care; but I have always been more concerned with what God thinks of me, then what others think. I had someone tell me a long time ago, “Crystal you’ve changed.” But it wasn’t because they really knew me, what my past was or what God had brought me out of; rather it was because they wanted my clothing to change and I happened to start to look the way they wanted me to look. Someone told me I was in rebellion for wearing lip gloss and I thought, “Lady, I have more things that I’m concerned with than what you think of me.” Nobody really knows your personal struggles. Nobody really knows what you go through on a daily basis. But God knows and He cares. He’s the ONLY ONE you need to care about pleasing. “For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet please men, I should not be servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10 When you get your eyes off pleasing Jesus, you begin to look around you at what others are doing and saying and you will compare yourself to them; AND comparison brings depression and bitterness. God doesn’t want you to be anyone but YOU. He created you to be unique and different. He broke the mold when He made you. Can you learn from others? YES! But find a brother or sister that will lead you back to the WORD of God. Have compassion for your accusers, they might be just as lost. SEEK to please Him! Find out what His Word says and FOLLOW it. Be led by the Holy Spirit and don’t worry about what others think.
MY SON COULDN’T DECIDE BETWEEN TWO PAIR OF SHOES for back to school. So, I told him I would buy one pair and he could pay me a portion for the other. He was so excited! He sent his friends a picture of them and one friend sent back, “The blue pair looks like women’s shoes.” He was immediately deflated. This same friend had texted his new pair of shoes and Gabe didn’t particularly like them, but told his friend, “Those are cool”. He told me later, ” Why should I steal his happiness. He liked them and was excited to have them.” My wise son. I got two things out of this: DON’T BE A JOY-STEALER AND DON’T LET OTHERS STEAL YOUR JOY. Ephesians 4:29 reads, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of EDIFYING, that it ministers GRACE to the hearers.” I like to say, “Man, you just popped my balloon. I’m carrying around my balloon all happy like and you just came over for no reason and popped it!” You have to be so careful with your words! They are LIFE and POWER, for good or evil. Did you know that you don’t have to speak every thought that comes across your mind? It’s true! We are told to only speak those things that administer GRACE. Now, maybe your like me and let others steal your joy. GUARD YOUR HEART! Get rid of ugly words! KNOW your worth IN CHRIST. YOU ARE MOST VALUABLE! Today’s lesson: KEEP your heart and your tongue!
