One thing that makes God faithful and trustworthy is the fact that His Word is unalterable. In fact, Jesus testified to this when He answered Satan’s temptation in Luke 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD of God.” Jesus declared that He will live by God’s Word above all else. He testified of the Word as truth and unchanging, regardless of the times or the season. If God’s Word changes, then He changes; and this would make Him a unreliable and fickle god. But, He is not unreliable and fickle, He is FAITHFUL AND TRUSTWORTHY. Every Word of God is pure! Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?” He has proclaimed, “My covenant I will not break not alter the thing that had gone out of My lips.” Ps 89:34;119:89 “FOREVER, O LORD, YOUR WORD IS SETTLED IN HEAVEN.” We can FULLY trust His Word, it is inspired and God-breathed; therefore we can have faith in His promises, rely on His EVERY WORD and at the same time heed every warning. God WILL do what He said He would do! What does this mean? KNOW AND LIVE THE WORD!
SHAME IS UNDIAGNOSED CANCER THAT EATS AND EATS AT YOU UNTIL YOU ARE CONSUMED. Is guilt and shame from your past eating you up? Are you carrying around that heavy load tirelessly and needlessly? Let me tell you a story. I was molested the first time when I was age nine by a 25 year old drunken man. From there, my life spiraled out of control. I didn’t realize that I had been carrying around shame from that until my own daughter was 9. We were driving somewhere singing and the Lord spoke to me, “Crystal, look at your daughter. She is young and innocent and she is 9.” I wasn’t getting it. He continued, “that’s how old you were when you were molested.” And I broke down crying. I didn’t even realize it until that very moment that I thought it was my fault. I had been carrying that shame for about 30 years. Now, right at this same time was our first women’s retreat. I had bought a white stone for every lady because the Lord had given me this scripture,”To him that overcomes, will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he that receives it.” Rev 2:17 That year God gave me the name “Purity”. This name spoke DIRECTLY to the guilt and shame I had carried around for so long. “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalms 51:7 So I ask you, what “cancer” are you carrying around? Maybe you are secure in what GOD has CALLED you, but if you still struggle with your past identity, let Him WASH YOU WHITER THAN SNOW. Are you letting your past have ANY control over you? Come seek grace at the altar of His cleansing forgiveness. Let Him ERASE all the guilt and shame- He longs to give you a NEW NAME. And next time that old devil tries to throw those lies back in your face, tell him “You have me confused with someone else. Go back to hell you liar!”
