Love strives to save. Bo Jackson got into a lot of trouble when he was younger. He was hanging with all the wrong kids and he grew into his body fast so that he towered over his mom and she became afraid of him. He came home one day to meet his mom in the kitchen and she had a gun in one hand and an electrical cord in the other. Standing there shaking, with a heart full of love for her son, she told him if he tried to hurt her, she would shoot him. It CHANGED his life and turned him around. Bo’s mom knew his ways were destroying his life. Drastic measures? For sure. I hate sin. I hate drunkenness. I hate drugs. I hate sexual immorality. Why? Because sin destroys lives and it very nearly took mine. SIN DESTROYS LIVES. What are you willing to do to save someone from sin and damnation? Jude 23 “[Strive to] save others, snatching [them] out of [the] fire; on others take pity [but] with fear, loathing even the garment spotted by the flesh and polluted by their sensuality.” LOVE STRIVES TO SAVE. I don’t believe in wishy-washy love. I don’t believe in a love that sits idly and watches as one walks down the path of destruction. How is that love? Love doesn’t need to be liked. Love cares more about a person than their present comfort. Love takes drastic measures for eternal consequences. Love is fierce. Love prays. Love intercedes. Love fasts. Love speaks. What will you do for love?
The prayer of the righteous has GREAT POWER! James 5:16 “Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” Here are a few things that the prayer of the righteous woman can accomplish: Draw you near to God. Open the way to a Spirit-filled life. Bring you power for ministry and Christian devotion. Builds you up spiritually. Give insight into Christ’s provision for you. Help you overcome Satan. Clarify the will of God. Enable you to receive spiritual gifts. Bring you into fellowship with God. Bring you grace, mercy and peace. Bring the lost to Christ. Bring you the wisdom, revelation and knowledge of Christ. Bring you healing. Bring you deliverance from trouble. Glorify God with praise and thanksgiving. Makes the presence of Christ real to you. Ensure you of your final salvation and of Christ’s intercession for you. Get the picture?
