DESPISE

DESPISE

DO YOU DESPISE GOD? Despise translated as, “to regard as unworthy of one’s notice or consideration.” Before you answer, let me expound: do you act as if He is unworthy of your consideration and speak of Him as if this were so by not praying and seeking His guidance, but going your own way and path, following your own selfish desires and putting God’s stamp of approval on it? Do you pay no respect to His commands, to His presence, or to His character by making Him your equal?

Do you violate His laws as if they were not worth regarding and spurn His counsels and entreaties by calling His Word “outdated”? Do you live life on your own terms, speaking to yourself the lie, “God would never do that” and go forward to meet Him as if His wrath were not to be apprehended or dreaded?

A huge problem in today’s church is “individual Christianity”, you do what you want, when you want, how you want and still call yourself a Christian. You forsake the Body and are disconnected. Comfort is your idol. You do what is right in your own eyes. This is despising God. Friend, Jesus is calling you to repent so the times of overflowing can come!

Turn your heart back to the Lord, get your eyes off self. Return to His Word and give it dominate place in your life and He will abundantly pardon. “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.” Revelation‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ #runyourrace
