So here’s the part where I share with you a ton of exciting information about my life that would entice you to come visit our church.
Sorry to let you down, but I’m not that exciting, or should I say, I don’t want to rewrite my life to make it seem more exciting than it is. I’m just a nobody who found out about Jesus who made me a somebody. If I hadn’t found out about Jesus when I was 15 who knows where I would have ended up. Certainly not as an Pastor in Auburn Washington.
I grew up with my older brother and my mom in Ballard Washington (Go Beavers). In high school I played football and wrestled and didn’t really excel at either one of them, but loved being part of the team. I lived in the same house my whole life and graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1997, and then went into the US Army.

In the Army, I was a mental health counselor and received training at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. While in San Antonio I met and married my wife Crystal. We knew that God had called us both into the ministry, but since it was 1998 and I wasn’t to get out of the army until 2003, we had a bit of waiting to do before I could become an Auburn WA pastor.
In the Army we were stationed in Texas and Washington, and I was deployed to Bosnia (SFOR 4), and the Sinai peninsula (MFO). I also was able to obtain my graduate degree while in the Army.
By faith and with the help of 2 other families, I became a pastor in 2003 when we started Faith and Victory Church. We started with 6 adults and 4 kids. We’ve grown quite a bit since then, and we praise God for it.

Typically, in a Pastor bio you would find out about schools of thought and theological positions and such, but that’s not really me. I just love Jesus and the Bible. I’m still trying to figure it all out and try my best to love everyone I meet. Its not easy, but I try.
I enjoy watching movies and spending time hanging out with people. If I had a hobby it would probably be trying to figure out how to spend less money at Costco every month.
I probably do things that aren’t very pastor like all the time, but I try to follow Jesus and not some other guy who happened to write a book that made a best seller list. It seems to be working so far, and I look forward to seeing what I’ll be able to accomplish before Jesus comes back.
If you’re ever in the area, either on vacation, or looking for a new church home, I’d love for you to be with us at Faith and Victory. If not, at least follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
