A muture Christian is one who is preparing for Heaven where they will live with Christ. While we can’t be perfect, we can root out as much sin as possible in our lives. We do this by harnessing the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives and not placing ourselves in places where we are tempted to do evil. This process is called Sanctification.

Review what you were asked to work in your faith from earlier lessons. Have you moved on to new things or are you still struggling with the same things? Why? Why Not?

Tasks:
#1. Spend one week praying to receive the Holy Spirit. If you have not prayed in tongues before pray to God that he will grant you the ability to pray in tongues. It is ok if you did not speak in tongues. Discuss with your Discipleship Mentor what you learned from this process.
#2. Pray for one week that someone will be miraculously healed. Discuss with your Discipleship Mentor what you learned from this process.
#3. Spend one hour in prayer but instead of praying simply listen for God to speak with you. You’ll need to do this some place quiet and free from distractions. Discuss with your Disciple Mentor what you learned from this process.
#4. Pray and liquid fast (no food – juice and water only) for one week for God to move on the current sin you are working on. Discuss with your Discipleship Mentor what you learned and if you made any progress during this time.
#5. Take one drastic step to eliminate sin from your life. Your Discipleship Mentor must approve of it.

I verify before God and before the witness (Discipleship Mentor) that I have listened to the sermons, read the Bible verses, answered the questions, and completed the tasks as assigned. I am committed to the process of sanctification and I continue working on it till I die or until Jesus comes back. I understand the Holy Spirit’s role in my life and embrace it. I am also aware of the temptations in my life and am willing to take drastic steps to avoid them.
