OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE of the heart, the mouth speaks. I’ve been meditating on this Scripture and in particular the word “abundance”. A few synonyms are “copiousness, plentifulness, and lavishness”. An antonym would be “scarcity or “lack”. What is your heart ABUNDANT with?

You may have a love for God; but it may be scarce, not in abundance. If the abundance of your heart is fleshly desires, alcohol and sex, even if there’s a small amount of love for God; fleshly desires, alcohol and sex will come out of you. If in the abundance of the heart is a desire to please people, more than your love for God; then the desire to please people is what will come out of you. If in the abundance of your heart is self and ego; well then self and ego will come out of you. “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ You may have a love for God; but if it’s not in abundance, that “fill in the blank” will choke out the love and come out of you. Your priorities must be: God first, God second, and God third until your life is continually face to face with God and no one else/nothing else is taken into account whatsoever. Jesus said, “Love the Lord with ALL your heart, ALL your soul, ALL your strength, ALL your mind”. If you seek Him with all your heart; then a love for God, His ways, His Word, His desires and His outcome will flow out of you in abundance. #runyourrace
