SOMETIMES GOD ASKS YOU TO DO CRAZY things. Just do it. I don’t always understand God, or why He tells His people to do a thing, or even how He will accomplish a thing; but He doesn’t ask us to understand His ways, just to be obedient children.
““For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV
Look at what He asked of Ezekiel, “Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it. According to the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity. For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days; so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.” Ezekiel 4:4-5 Then, he had to lay on his right side.
Why? Because God told him to. It was an illustration, but why this way? I don’t know. He’s God and I am not. The Lord asked Moses to raise his staff in his arms so the Israelites could win the battle. I don’t have to understand why or how the lifting of hands, but know that when he lowered them Israel lost the battle. So other men held up his arms. What a site this must have been! He whittled an army of thousands down to a 300 man army by how they drank water.
Why? Because He’s God. His army. His battle. His choice. His way. He brought down the walls of Jericho with a shout from His people. This was amazing and amazingly different. Why march in silence for seven days? Because He said so. He might just ask you to do something crazy. Just do it. Is it scary? Sometimes. Do it afraid. He might ask you to step out of the boat and walk on water. Will you do what He asks of you, no matter how crazy it sounds? He knows what He’s doing, but you have to be a willing vessel. Throw out your idea of practically and get comfortable with the amazing and miraculous. He is an awesome God.
The Lord does not do things our way. He does things His way. The people of the Bible who did great things were no different than you or I, they were just willing to be used. You need not understand and you don’t have to have any ability accept availability; just be obedient like Isaiah, “Here I am God, send me”. Then just do what He tells you to do in the manner in which He tells you to do it. #runyourrace
