BENEFITS

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS. It’s does not mean what you think. A friend brought me a coffee and because there were others in my home, she brought them something as well. When she came in, my daughter said, “thank you” to which my friend replied, “You’re welcome, but it was mostly for your mom, you just benefited by being here.” Cute! But it made me think of a Scripture.

The king of Israel wanted to go to battle against Moab and asked Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, to go to battle with him. Jehoshaphat sought the Lord through the prophet Elisha. Elisha came, but not because of the king of Israel and Elisha let him know, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I have regard for Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would neither look at you nor see you.” 2 Kings‬ ‭3:14‬

‭Do you realize that sometimes your blessed just because of who you are in relationship with? Friendships are important and not everyone is a friend. A friend loves at all times, a friend rebukes you and calls you out when you are being foolish, a friend holds you back from destruction, not pat your back as you go down the broad path. I wish you’d get this down into your spirit, “bad company corrupts good morals”. Beware the crowd that always applauds you, do not be led astray with the wicked. Hang out with the wise and you become wiser. You are known by the company you keep. Some Scriptures for your consideration: Proverbs 13:20, 18:24; Ps 1:1-2, 141:4-5; Job 15:34; 1 Cor 15:33, 2 Cor 6:14. #runyourrace
