BITTER AND CYNICAL LANGUAGE

THE BITTER AND CYNICAL LANGUAGE OF UNBELIEF, “The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is trouble and iniquity.” Psalms‬ ‭10:4, 7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ A person can be recognized by his words and an uncontrolled tongue displays a man who is living in self-deception and one who’s religion is worthless. Not my words- the words of the Spirit in James 1:26. You are deceiving yourself if you think God doesn’t care what/how/why you say something. Jesus tells us that we will give an account of every idle word. Whoa. This is serious business. Just as we are to keep our flesh in subjection, we are to guard our mouths. I knew a pastor who thought it was “cool” to go around cussing because he was proving that he was “under grace”. Self-deceiving, worthless religion.
An unbridled tongue: curses, speaks deceitfully, causes division and dissension, spreads lies and gossip, speaks doubt and disbelief, leads others into falsehood, and the like. There is no shortcut to spirituality. You will not gain control of your tongue through a charismatic experience. There’s no magical verse that will suddenly transform your character unless you OBEY IT. “Prove yourselves does of the Word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves”.
