BLESSED IS THE MAN. I’m guessing most of us want the blessings and favor of the Lord. I need Him to be for me and not against me. I don’t need fame or fortune, but I do need His hand of favor in my life. I need Him to open up the impassable and make a path in the wilderness.
There’s two kinds of people, each with a distinct set of life principles according to the first Psalm: (1) the godly, characterized by righteousness, love, obedience to God’s Word and separation from fellowship with the world; and (2) the ungodly, who represent the ways and counsel of the world, do not abide in God’s Word and mock that which is holy.
The godly build their lives around the instruction of God’s Word, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.” Psalms 1:2 NKJV The apostle Paul to the Romans tells us, “You are to be transformed by the renewing of your mind”. And what/how are you to renew your mind? By meditating on God’s Word. Our thinking, attitudes and actions need to be reshaped.
We need to know God by revelation and therefore, restructure our thoughts to match the mind of Christ. “The carnal mind (fleshly way of thinking) is the enemy of God because it is not subject to Him”. Here’s some questions to help reshape your thinking when meditating on Scripture: Does this apply to my life and personal situation? Is there a promise for me to claim or a warning for me to heed? Is this passage revealing a sin I must avoid? Is God issuing a command I must obey? Is my spirit in line with what the Holy Spirit is saying? Is the passage revealing a truth about God, salvation, sin, the world or my personal obedience on which I need the Spirit to shine light upon? This is a good start to transforming your mind. #runyourrace
