“I CANNOT BRAG ABOUT MY LOVE for God because I fail Him daily. But I can brag about His love for me.” I don’t like this saying and it’s not scriptural, whoever said it. Why can’t you brag about your love for Him? David did and it was a continual theme in His psalms, “O love the Lord, all you His saints! The Lord preserves the faithful, and plentifully pays back him who deals haughtily.” Psalm‬ ‭31:23‬ ‭We love Him because He first loved us.

Did He not do enough on the cross to sustain your love for Him? Was it not enough that He saved you, washed you, renewed you and set you upon a Rock? What else does He need to do? The church used to sing glorious songs about how much we love Him, but something has changed. And yes, OH how He loves us! But His love is meant to change us and change our heart and mind. It is the first and greatest commandment.

Our life should be marked by OUR LOVE for and faithfulness to Him. Like Paul, you should be able to say at the end of your life, “I have ran my race and kept the faith. I have been faithful to my Lord”. Our lives should reflect faithfulness and love to a holy God, not one of unfaithfulness like the adulterous generation of Israelites. He that loves God keeps His commandments. He has given you everything you need for life and godliness, why can’t you brag of your love for and faithfulness to Him??
