I DON’T KNOW IF you’ve heard, but my son and I talk sports a lot and Nike just dropped a deal with Antonio Brown (Patriots wide receiver) amid allegations of a sexual assault that occurred two years ago. I do not endorse rape of any kind, it’s disgusting, degrading and detrimental; but I also I think it is shameful that a man can be presumed guilty off of an accusation. There’s a reason for the moralizing tale, “The boy who cried wolf”. There are a lot of histrionic women out there seeking attention.

Already, Nike has assumed his guilt. IF he is guilty, then she will be found innocent of her charges and he will pay for his crime. I’m not putting her on trial, but there’s been a lot of women who have falsely accused men, for one personal reason or another. Potiphar’s wife comes to mind. I know a few myself and it’s disgusting to play with another’s life in this manner.

That being said, what if Mr. Brown had been living his life in such a way that even if someone falsely accused him everyone would say, “NO WAY!” What if he put such boundaries on his life to never be alone with a woman? Unless it was his intended wife? What if he would have married his girlfriend and been completely faithful to her? What if he was honorable in everything he did? What if he never went to night clubs to party, or got drunk, or he treated every woman with respect? If that were the case, women would be lining up in his defense to say, “Not Him. You are liar!”

My point is, live in such a way that any allegation against you would automatically be declared false. Be the same in public as you are in private. The Bible is very clear on this matter, “But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.” Numbers‬ ‭32:23‬ ‭Your sin WILL find you out and you will reap what you sow. Me, I hope he is innocent. I’m not one to believe an allegation; but his life hasn’t displayed a life of impeccable character.
