THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF CHERRY picking Christians. Only picking out the Scriptures that they like or fit what they want in a moment. Like, “God gives me the desires of my heart!” Yet they do not read the rest of Psalm 37. Or how about “God looks at the heart” but forgets the part that says “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”. Some say they’re a “red letter” Christian, but forget about Jesus’ words to the seven churches (or even that the Bible is God-breathed). Here’s a good one, “I don’t have to be in church” but obviously has never read half of the NT that was written to a church and its demands are corporate, not private. I hear this all the time, “I’m saved by my faith” but forgot that “faith without works is dead faith”. Or God’s words to Joshua, “I’ll never leave you nor forsake you” but completely leave out the other demand, “observe all My law, turn not from the right hand or to the left.” God is NEVER in your disobedience. “But to the wicked (disobedient) God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth, Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you?” Psalms‬ ‭50:16-17‬ See, God is an ALL or NOTHING God. Either Jesus is LORD of all, or He’s not Lord at all. It’s 100% submission and surrender. 99 1/2 won’t do. Satan will expose and exploit that 1/2%, always. Swallow your pride and humble yourself. God cannot give you all that He is if you won’t surrender. He’s looking for a willing and submitted vessel that He can show Himself strong in! He wants to use you and do great things through you, but your stubborn will has to be dead and buried.
