CHURCH BODY

CHURCH BODY

LET’S SAY YOU ARE THE NOSE of the Body. The nose has the ability to smell, and without smell, there’s no taste. The nose has small hairs that trap bacteria and such from entering the body and making it sick. If you went out without your nose, you’d look pretty silly. We may think our nose looks funny, and maybe we don’t like it’s size or shape- but it’s essential to the health of the body.

You are needed in the Body and when you’re not an active member; we all suffer. “And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?” I Corinthians‬ ‭12:16-17‬ ‭

There’s a few reasons why Christians are absent from the Body- you are offended and so you isolate thinking this is the best way. I will tell you as an introvert fighting my own nature, my tendency is to isolate when I’m hurt and shut everyone out. Isolation allows the enemy to work overtime. He will beat you up and you will believe his lies that you are not wanted or needed. Second reason, you are lukewarm. This is common in today’s church. You believe you can live how you want to live and do as you want. This is also a lie.

Individual Christianity doesn’t exist. You are either attached to the Body, or you’re not. Showing up once in awhile, when you FEEL like it, makes you your own god. A nose cannot survive if it’s not attached to the face. It needs the Body and the Body needs the nose. Smelling is essential to a full life!
