CONDITIONAL

CONDITIONAL

IF……THEN is a conditional statement. It is a statement with a hypothesis followed by a conclusion. Another way to define a conditional statement is to say, “If this happens, then that will happen.” “Concerning this temple which you are building, IF you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, THEN I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David.” I Kings‬ ‭6:12

‬ ‭The books of 1 and 2 Kings record the tragic history of the persistent failure of God’s people to meet this condition. The success or failure of each king was evaluated according to his faithfulness or unfaithfulness to God and the covenant, no matter the political or economical success. But have we changed much?

We are in a new covenant with God through Jesus Christ, but God’s words are still conditional. How many times has God said, “If you will pray in faith, then will I answer”? But you refuse to sit still and pray and your prayers are only to consume your own desires. How many times has God said to wait upon Him? “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall run and not grow weary”. But you refuse to wait and so you go forth in your strength only to be depleted, thus never receiving this glorious promise. You blaze your own trail, but at the end is barrenness.

How many times has God said that if you will obey His Word it will go well for you? But you are disobedient and find yourself in a pig sty, yet again. Here’s a Scripture so many quote: “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬Yet, it’s conditioned upon the following verse:“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So many fail to receive the promise because they don’t meet the “If, Then” condition. How many times of failure does it take for you to learn this lesson? Success is still evaluated in terms of your faithfulness to Him and His Word. This is the only way. Walk in it. #runyourrace
