Its All Connected

It’s all connected 1 Peter 3:1-7

Read Verse:

  • I was going to ask Pastor Crystal to switch – But the Lord reminded me that He gave me this scripture
  • Today, I will not tip toe on anything, I will walk boldly in the authority that God has given me to speak His Word
  • Some of the things you will hear today will challenge you and may even make you feel some kind of way toward the preacher, but remember- This is God’s word, and I am a vessel
  • My intention is not to give it to you, let you have it! No, my heart is that God uses this teaching to refine you, encourage you and get you ready to be offered to Christ as Holy and Righteous
  • Disclaimer: Not just for the married – Learn to obey all God’s commandments. Your success should be measured by your obedience to God
  • Pastor Jay – Last week

Text:

  • Wives, likewise! – Meaning, like a servant does to the master, like Christ did – He was lead as lamb though He did not fight back
    • Previous chapter speaks of being subject to Government, Master and how Christ Submitted to the will of God
  • 1 Peter 2:23-25 (Nkjv)- who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [a]stripes you were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and [b]Overseer of your souls.
  • Wives be subject to your husbands – that when they see your respect and conduct, they may be won for Christ and then for you
  • It’s the same concept, just like when Christ submitted to God’s will and went to the cross, the guard said” Surely this is the Son of God”
  • Matthew 27:54 (Nkjv) So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
  • Don’t let your beauty only be seen on the outside “Facebook and Instagram”, here at Church… but let the cup be clean on the inside as well
  • We are even given an example, that Sarah adorned herself and submitted to Abraham- and as her children, you ought to do the same
  • The inner beauty of a godly woman is incorruptible. This means that it does not decay or get worse with age. Instead, incorruptible beauty only gets better with age, and is therefore of much greater value than the beauty that comes from the hair, jewelry, or clothing.
  • Husband Likewise (as Christ, sacrificially), meaning be submissive to God, who has made you the stronger vessel
  • Husbands, dwell (not just sharing a house) with your wife with understanding, giving honor to the wife
  • Likewise – Sacrificial – Marriage is not easy, and if you are not sacrificing in your marriage – you are not doing it right
  • My hike last week, – I love my wife, I love my wife
  • Vs 7: That your prayers, may not be hindered– Pastor Matt last Sunday -Prayer
  1. Be devoted to your position
  • Ephesians 5:31-32 (Nkjv) “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
  • This is a very popular verse at our Church – Think on it
  • It’s a great way of seeing how it’s all connected – You can’t say you love Church and not love your wife, and you can’t say you are submitted to the Lord and not be submitted to your husband
  • The Old Testament and the new are all connected. You will see them being referenced, others being confirmed, and others are analogy
  • Christ coming and dying predicted, the sacrifice of animals and Christ – Its all connected!
  • God made things in an orderly manner, Our God is a God of order
  • 1 Peter 3:2 (Ampc) When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your [a]reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him—to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband].
  • One discipline translates to another – P. Matt – if you are not disciplined in everything, you are not disciplined in anything
  • He made man the head – Ephesians 5:23 ( Nkjv) For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body
  • Men DO NOT relinquish (Surrender, abandon, concede) Headship where God has appointed
  • I am not ok with men who says, I just let my wife make all the decisions
  • Here is a good one for you…” That is the like of telling the Church to take over God’s position in heaven
  • This I Speak of a great mystery
  • Look at the Church today, it wants to redefine Marriage, Sins, get rid of some verses in the Bible- I am sure God is not there thinking- This is way too much, let just let them lead
  • News flash, God has been fighting (Upholding- it’s really not a fight but for us earthlings) for His headship since the devil tried to take it
  • You are doing God a dishonor when you come home from work and sit down on your couch and watch tv and participate in raising your kids and loving you wife
  • Deuteronomy 11:18-19(Nkjv)  “Therefore you shall [a]lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. – Dad’s rise up
  • Women, the church doesn’t let the ideology of the world change its primary role – We fight to keep the doors open
  • We didn’t shut down the Church, we continued to worship, and our God fought for us
  • Continue to honor God, and fight for your husband on your knees- Have you not watched “War room”
  • Headship is very important, and God will fight for His Church and the Church has to fight to be in Gods will
  1. Don’t steady the cart carrying the Ark
  • David is made King after Saul and he gathers 30,000 Men if Israel to go get the ark of God
  • 2 Samuel 6:6-7 (Nkjv) And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and [d]took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his [e]error; and he died there by the ark of God.
  • This was because of the Command God has already given
    • Numbers 4:15 (Nkjv)  And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.
  • Vs.1 That they may be won over not by discussion (or reasoning – trying to find logic) – by conduct and how you carry yourselves – as Godly Husband and wives
  • I get it, sometimes we have to step in and do what it takes, but that has to be in the confines of Gods law
  • Don’t steady the cart, you will die!
  • I have heard people say that the woman was taken from the side so that they can be equal – that not the head of foot
  • Where does it say that in the Bible? That makes for a great Valentine’s card but its deception
  • She could have come from his Hair or small toe, yet it’s not where, its WHO said WHAT!
  • Deuteronomy 4:2 (Nkjv) – You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
  • We are following the world standard with wokeness and gender equality e.t.c
  • You can’t claim the Word of God and still act like someone who has not read it
  • Here a thought to ponder on; Why did Jesus, who was all powerful not rescue John the Baptist
  • Jesus came at a time when the Roman has taken over and if there was a time and place to rescue His people, this was it
  • But this would have only saved a few people, not the whole world. A time would come that He would really save/ rescue, redeem His people
  • He stayed True to what God had called Him to do regardless of how the other party behaved
  • Pastor Jay – It’s not how your boss behaves, it’s how you behave
  • We are called to do the same regardless of your current or past situation
  • Mark 4:19 (ampc) Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.
  • We are accountable to God and one day we will be liable- But Lord, you don’t know my situation
  • And Jesus will respond, you only know the little that I suffered on this earth- Remember
  • John 21:25(Nkjv)- And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
  • I get its some have and maybe still in bad situations- But if we are God’s Children and truly believes that He will fight for us- Let’s not try to steady the cart
  1. Avoid the stone mill on your neck
  • Matthew 18:6(Nkjv) – But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea
  • Men, if you are not leading your family, you are teaching your children not to honor God
  • This I speak of a Mystery – How are they going to honor God if the example God has put in their lives for headship is weak?
  • Women, if you don’t submit your husbands – how do you expect your young girls to grow up and submit and honor God? – – Hence you will be Judged
  • Women and men, but mostly women how you dress – One of these young believers who is coming from a place of struggling with Sin and now you are the biggest block of His or Her Christianity
  • We have lots of youth here and I praise God for it – your conduct and speech
  • Stop speaking negatively about men or women in general – Talk specifics if you want to but don’t build rebellion in your children because of your choices or your misfortune
  • I was raised by a single mom, and at times it hurts, I want my dad. I really do. A man to encourage me, tell me that I am not messing my family up the way I am raising them, hear him say, you are doing well as a businessman e.tc I want my girls to have a grandpa like the one they show on TV
  • I still have to honor him – Honor your mother and father …And more so, I don’t sit there and speak ill of him. My girls have never heard me say anything bad about my dad- Ever
  • I have told them that I wish I had a relationship -but nothing ill
  • The last thing I want is to have a millstone on my head
  1. Fear and trembling
  • Philippians 2:12-13(Nkjv) – Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
  • Its serious business for Husband to love your wives as Christ loves the church, and wives to submit to your husbands
  • Revelation – everything has been set before time, things are not going to change because you have a different opinion (It’s all connected)
  • I will leave you with this: Saul has already been anointed by Samuel to be the King of Israel and here it is:
  • 1 Samuel 10: 20-22 (Nkjv)And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was chosen. 21 When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was chosen. And Saul the son of Kish was chosen. But when they sought him, he could not be found. 22 Therefore they inquired of the Lord further, “Has the man come here yet?” And the Lord answered, “There he is, hidden among the equipment.”
  • Here is a man who was hiding and in contrast later on here is a man who now wants to be God
  • 1 Samuel 13: 9-11 (Nkjv)So Saul said, “Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me.” And he offered the burnt offering. 10 Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might [d]greet him.

And Samuel said, “What have you done?”

  • Judgement is pronounced against him
  •  1 Samuel 13:13 (Nkjv) – And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you.
  • What a sad moment – No one is immune – Sorry I never knew you!
  • James 1:5(Nkjv) – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
  • Start here, ask how to honor God is your marriage, and for the non-married people – Tell God to show you how to honor Him
