CONTROL THE CONTROLLABLES. There are many things you cannot control: the government, the weather, the beating of your heart and most definitely what others do and say. I’m a control freak and it’s been one of my battles in this life. However, there are many things you can control and are to take responsibility for.

I like to say you have a “response ability”. You are able to choose your response. You can control what you put in your mouth and what comes out of your mouth. You have the ability to plan your day effectively. We all have the same 24 hours. You choose what you listen to, who your spend time with, the places you go, the voices you give ear to, the programming you watch, what books you read, how you spend your money. The things done to you do not have to control you.

How are you responding? You can cast all caution to the wind and respond in fear, anger, frustration, depression, or you can respond in a spirit of self-control. Stop playing the victim and blaming everyone else and stop making excuses for bad behavior. When will you stop allowing what others did to you to be greater than His shed blood and the power of the Spirit to overcoming?

You can be transformed by renewing your mind; but you have to align your thoughts, words, feelings with God’s Word and give the Spirit greater place in your life than your selfish flesh.
