“AND I WILL VERY GLADLY spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.” II Corinthians‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The words of the Apostle Paul, founder and father of the Corinthian church, appointed by Christ for this work, earnestly loving and adopting the Corinthians as his own. The more he LOVED them, the less he was loved by them. Perhaps you skipped over this Scripture. What does it mean? Most of Paul’s letters to the church were hammered out on discipline. There was gross sin being committed and instead of grieving over it, the church was gloating, “We are so loving and approving”. Like most people, they didn’t like being rebuked and corrected for their sin. If you will notice Paul says, “the more I LOVE”, hence LOVE involves speaking to sin. If you are under a ministry that never talks about sin, that ministry is under dereliction of duty.

LOVE includes correction. LOVE turns others from sin. Paul blamed the whole CHURCH for not casting out the immoral brother. Why? Because what ONE does affects the ALL. Go read about Achan’s sin. One man’s sin cost Israel more than she wanted to give- 36 innocent men died. A fact Paul was very well acquainted with. So I ask you friend, leader, Saint and keeper of your brother, called to keep unity in the bond of holiness: how much do you love? Do you truly love as Paul loved others or only care about not hurting their feelings?
