DID YOU INHERIT THE OFFENSIVE
and grumbling spirit of the Exodus Israelites? “Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.” Numbers‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭Mind you, this was only THREE days into their journey. They murmured and complained because their situation and circumstances were not “ideal” and because of their “bad report” of their 40 days scouting out the promised land, God gave them 1 year of punishment for every day, 40 years of wandering.

Oh how quickly they had forgotten their mighty deliverance from Egyptian slavery and the wonderful miracles of the Lord! But are you any different? Have you forgotten the miracle of the cross? Did you forget you were delivered from the bondage of sin, how you were a slave to it and an enemy of God? How quickly have you forgotten the many times He worked on your behalf and fed you with that wonderful bread on high?

See, these Exodus Israelites didn’t really trust God nor would they commit their lives and future to Him. Are you any different? Who/what is your trust really in? Perhaps in yourself and your ability to provide? Examine your heart. Commune with yourself and be truthful. Complaining and grumbling only reveals that you are not content with His provision and guidance. If God added 1 year of discipline for every day you murmured and complained, what would that look like? #runyourrace
