DILIGENCE

DILIGENCE

MOW THE LAWN. I enjoy mowing the lawn, but for most people it’s a mundane chore that needs to get done on a weekly basis. Otherwise, your lawn grows out of control. I was praying for someone and the Spirit spoke to me, “tell them to mow the lawn”. I had to investigate this as I was not sure what was meant. I prayed on it for a while and the Lord revealed it. Be diligent to do the mundane work- continually.

Humans and especially a lot of Christians I know are always seeking for the mountain top experiences. They seek signs and wonders, running to every Christian concert and prophetic ministry. But it’s in the mundane where our character is built. It’s when we continue to work for Him, not seeing any results for years where faith is built. It’s when we are busy mowing the lawn faithfully that God shows up in a big way to reward faithfulness.

The faithful of the Bible were those who continued to diligently obey God through the mundane. They faithfully did the work set out before them, never quitting and never giving up. They fought battles of fear and depression, adversity and persecution; but they kept going. They were obedient unto death, some never seeing the results of their work. You must be diligent to persevere if you are to finish your race, “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.”

Character is not built in a day, but rather day after day of doing the mundane and learning to find joy in working for the Lord, even when you don’t immediately see the results. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭#runyourrace
