YOU ARE NOT CALLED TO SELF-preservation. I get it, some think it’s the end of the world and we are just rearranging chairs on the Titanic. Let’s all hole ourselves up and wait for Jesus. But is that what Scripture tells us to do? Not at all. There are many verses and parables Christ taught that we are to be found doing our job when He returns, “Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.” “Occupy until I come”. Chaos does not cancel your calling nor your mission. You cannot bury your talents.
In fact, He wants interest on the ones He has given you. The call to overcome is continual. As is the call to be a light, “Hide it under a bushel? NO! I’m gonna let it shine!”. The call to not forsake the gathering, the call to preach and teach, prophecy, lay hands on the sick, love, serve and give is to all, continually; but especially the house of God. Now is not the time to run and hide; but to rise up, watch and pray, fight the good fight of faith, tell a lost world about repentance and reconciliation in the mighty name of Jesus. Train your children in righteousness and prepare the next generation. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit by operating in fleshly selfishness. Don’t be distracted by the world. It’s always been evil and against God’s people.
Why are you so fearful? The world will do what it’s going to do. This should have no effect on your calling. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” John 15:13-14 As I often say, you still have a race to run. #runyourrace
