Do you need help? Acts 11:1-18

We are in a war – Think about the war we know of:
- Syrian war – 7 years plus
- The ISIS war started in 2014
- News flash – the longest war is the one that is after your soul- It began before you were born- (War what is it good?)
And it intensified when Jesus dies on the cross for you and I
There is no difference between the time after Jesus ascended to heaven and now.
The disciples were commissioned to eliminate evil in the world and that what we are called to do now.
A great commission – go and spread the Word, but we can’t do it alone – we are not capable
- Matthew 28:19-20 – 9 Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [b]Amen.
God knew that Peter, the disciples and the Gentiles would be at war and there is not way they would have done it lone.
So, He sent them the Holy Spirit. And today that same gift is available for you my friends!
Look around and try to explain to me why people are doing the things they are doing
- Bad things are happening more- Kidnapping, abuse, young kids are doing things I don’t want to even think or speak about
- Watching anything on TV – Even commercial will need discernment that comes from the Holy Spirit
- If you think this is just the generation and blame it on tv or social media…you are wrong
We fight not against fresh and blood
Ephesians 6: 10-12 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places
- I struggle to watch or read the news…but I do because I once heard someone say
Read the Bible and know what God is doing and then also read the newspaper and know what the devil is doing
I will add to that and say – when you read the paper, pray!!! And know that this information should rise in you an urgency to pray now!!
A time is coming when you will need to close your physical eyes and have the leading of the Holy Spirit only
- You will not make it out of your door if all you have is your bare eyes
- Sin is calling on every corner – and it’s only the Holy Spirit that will lead you a different way
Its time to do whatever it takes to position yourself in a place the Holy Spirit can find a home in you.
1 Peter 2:1-3 – So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. 2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.
You get to grow in to full Experience of Salvation – What would that look like for you and the people around you?
- This is the time to get to know and learn the leading of the Holy Spirit
This is the time to ready ourselves.
- The 10 virgins (Matthew 25) – You need to get your oil ready – This is the time, to get filled with the Holy Spirit so you can be ready.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s.
- The idea that we are Holy like the front of the early temples- That God’s Spirit resides in us is crazy
- The penalty of being sinful was death
- Yet God give you and I a choice
- God want to live inside of you but we gotta kick out the junk
What in your life do you need fixed – Today is the day. The Holy Spirit wants to rest in you but HE is a jealous God – He will not share space
Mark 3:27 – No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.
- Who is in your house?
- What is the state of your house (temple of the Lord) is there peace or is it a party house…can’t hear the knock bro/sister?
Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
Some of you need a new heart – The old heart is worn out – it carries to much baggage from the past – It will trick you to looking back like lots wife
- Its time to allow Christ to come in and restore you – give you a new heart that will be filled and contains the Holy Spirit
- Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
- Psalms 51:10-11 – Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Do you need help? – The Holy Spirit
John 14:26 (AMP) But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.
It’s time to seek the anointing of the Holy Spirit
Romans 8:26-27 Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God
- He equips us – He is my life GPS – My story and Waze – Traffic, quickest way, conserve energy
- Even if I have travelled that route before, I don’t rely on my experience
- It may be the same road travelled but there may be delay, accident, danger
- I need the GPS -to tell me whether I need to reroute. And I don’t just get the direction and that it …I constantly check to make sure am on the right track
- These are the modern weapons we use – Spiritual drone (picture), thermo imaging
This is what we need. News flash – You are in a war zone
You armor will be fueled by the Holy Spirit – Who has seen Iron man movie?
He has to fly and just like the GPS – It has a bird eye view, just like a drone
- There is a reason that the Bible says those that wait for the Lord will soar like an eagle
- Isaiah 30: 21 – Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.will guide you whether to go right or left
Sometimes it hard to put on our armor – Its hard to pray or read your bible
The enemy gets us distracted but the Holy Spirit knows what we need – Prays for us
He knows what you are fighting against and comes and rescues you – This evening someone needs rescuing – Today it the day – Its time to cry out to God
John the Baptist
Luke 1:14-15 – And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
Luke 1:41-42 – And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
Matthew 3:3 – For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’
See John announced Jesus 1st coming – He was anointed with the Holy Spirit before he was even conceived ….
Today You! and the future generation have been called to announce Jesus second coming – Pray for the Holy Spirit for you and for you kids …born and yet to be born
Pray that your kids will be filled with the Holy Spirit
The bible says that He will teach you which way to go. …. All you need to do is to invite Him in
John 14:26 – But the [a]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you
Romans 5:1-5 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, [a]we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces [b]perseverance; 4 and perseverance, [c]character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Acts 1:8 -But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [a]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Luke11:10-14 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for [a]bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Tonight, I want to a very simple alter call. If you haven’t completely submitted to God, Holy Spirit has not place to rest – Give it over to Him now
And Second – If you want to filled with the Holy Spirit – come as well and let me pray with you
