Faith and Victory Church History

Faith and Victory Church History

Faith and Victory Church started in June of 2003 by the Krachunis, Alexander, and Fullerton families with a vision of touching people with the love of God and the truth of Jesus Christ.  Our name comes from the Bible verse 1 John 5:4 “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith”

Our first service was June 22nd, 2003 in the multi-purpose room of Sunrise Elementary on Kent’s East Hill. Because of the enormous amounts of prayer and leafleting, we believed that first Sunday was going to be miraculous. We planned to pack the place out, so in preparation, got 12 dozen donuts and brewed 100 cups of coffee.

We were Small but Faithful! – Church History

Exactly zero visitors showed up that first Sunday. Two members of the church plant team were firefighters who had to work, so the attendance for our first service was eight people. Four of which were children.  Our beginnings started small.

We weren’t discouraged and continued with what God had birthed in our heart, and through a connection within the church, in the fall of 2004, were able to move into a warehouse building owned by Aero Controls on West Valley Highway in Auburn Washington.  This building would serve as our church home for the next 10 years.

For the first four and half years, our Pastor, Matt Krachunis worked full time while our church grew to a point where it could financially support a full time pastor. That was in December of 2007. At that time, Faith and Victory had about 50-60 weekly attendees.

We Expanded to Two Services.

In June 2013 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a church now the size of 200 people.  We continued grow and rented out more and more of the warehouse on West Valley Highway moving into the upstairs to accommodate our children’s ministry and also setting up a TV to watch the service on our brand new LIVE STREAM!

One year later we were filling two services  with standing room only and we either had to add more services or move to another place.  After much prayer and discussion we decided to start looking for a building to purchase.  After two buildings that God told us no on, we found the building that God was calling us to, a Russian Baptist church on A Street in Auburn WA.

We Bought a Building! – Church History

In September of 2014, through God’s faithfulness and blessings, a few miracles, and the friends/family/members of Faith and Victory Church we were able to secure a loan to purchase the building where we currently reside, 1302 A Street SE Auburn, WA.

We know that a building is not the church but to be surrounded by a community of people that need us is very exciting.  We can serve our neighbors, cook meals, feed the homeless, and even do car washes.  All things we couldn’t do before.  We were and are so excited that God has provided this opportunity for us.

We Paid Off a Building and Celebrated 20 Years of Ministry

In June of 2023 Faith and Victory Church Celebrated it’s 20 year anniversary.  Needless to say we were excited and thrilled that we had made it this far and that God had blessed us with growth, relationships, finances, and sense of permanency in the Auburn WA area.

Not only that but after a time of sacrificial giving from it’s members the church was able to pay off it’s bank loan and now own the land and buildings we worship in.  God is GOOD!

We Want YOU!

Today we are a growing, thriving church that preaches God’s word without apology.  We have settled into our mission on A street and have begun to share the gospel with the community around us, the people of Auburn, and the whole world. If you don’t have a home church, we would love for you to visit. Hope to see you next Sunday!
