A FAMINE IS COMING.
“Indeed seven years of great plenty will come throughout all the land of Egypt; but after them seven years of famine will arise, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine will deplete the land. So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe.”
Genesis 41:29-31
At the start of 2017, the Lord spoke to me and told me that He would bring this to pass again. I was still new to the Christian faith, and at the time I was not fully aware that I was hearing His voice, but still I prayed and asked what we were to do. He told me that just as He had commanded them to store one-fifth of the produce at the time, so we should be saving 20% of our income as we are able during the abundant years.
In January of 2018, the Lord told me that the seven years of abundance would begin. Over the following years, the stock markets hit new highs and the economy flourished. Then, at the start of 2020, the world’s response to the coronavirus pandemic threatened to ruin the economy.
If I am honest, my faith was shaken. I felt like a fool for several months following, I questioned whether I had truly heard from the Lord and I dwelt in shame and embarrassment for months. Then He gave me understanding and told me that this was a “foreshadowing of what’s to come”. He encouraged me and told me that this was a wake-up call for the nation and for the church to listen and watch.
I was told there would be no economic depression yet, rather the economy would flourish better than it had before. There is real crisis coming, but it is not yet. All of these things are the beginning of woes! Let the church arise and pray, be watchful and repentant! Pay off debt, save 20% of your increase as you are able, and ask the Lord for specific direction. We will all have our work for the Lord in the days and years ahead.
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and wine.”
