“FEAR NOT”. A phrase used quite often in scripture. Why? Because the Lord knows that those who fear are crippled and in torment. I knew a gal who wouldn’t even shake hands with you for fear of getting germs. Crippling. Fear is real and it is a tormenting spirit the evil one uses to keep us in bondage. BUT IT CAN BE OVERCOME.
I lived in fear for many years, crippling fear that kept me from doing things I knew I was supposed to be doing. I overcame that fear by the power and authority of the Holy Spirit. I stopped allowing it to have control over me and I took authority over that fear. God presented things to me in a new light, “Do you trust Me? Do you trust that I have you in My hands? OR NOT?” It is very black and white. When you fear, you do not trust God. That’s the bottom line. You don’t trust that He loves you, or that He goes with you, or that He knows and cares and can handle the situation at hand.
Fear reveals that you trust in your own ability and that you know what’s best for your safety. This is wrong thinking. You are lying to yourself. Regardless of what you say, your actions prove different. You can say, “I trust in Jesus!” But your actions will show whether or not that’s the truth. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”I John 4:18 NKJV
The way to overcome fear is to love the Lord with all your heart and let Him love you fully and TRUST in His care for you. Stop allowing fear to control you and be led by the Spirit. Get in and remain in His presence. Do not forsake the gathering of the brethren. Put on your armor and be washed by the Word- it is a sword to use against the enemy of your soul. Fear will control you as long as you let it. When you operate in fear, you return to bondage. This is not the will of God. You cannot please God when you fear and it will hinder your walk. It is high time for you to step out in faith and trust Him. #runyourrace
