THE ASSYRIANS WERE THE TERRORISTS of their time and conquerors of all other nations, except Judah. Godly King Hezekiah would not give in to their threats. Rab-shakeh, captain of the Assyrian army, surrounded Judah and spouted off intimation and slander, “But the people held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king’s (Hezekiah) commandment was, “Do not answer him.”” II Kings 18:36
When the enemy taunts and jeers, tries to bully you into submission and publicizes the lie to intimidate you; do not answer him. There’s nothing good in a defending response towards hurling insults and false accusations; in fact you are not to according to Scripture and you need not. God is my strong Defender. When I defend myself, I take away God’s right and authority to bring judgment. It doesn’t matter what others believe about you. For if they believe the lie, then they never really knew you.
If a false accusation can turn another’s heart against the truth, then shame on them. It’s not your business. The enemy uses intimidation tactics to keep you from doing all God has called you to do. He doesn’t have to destroy you, just render you ineffective for the kingdom of God. Don’t allow the devil place in your life. Don’t believe the lie. Do not answer him. Every conversation is being recorded and one day all will be revealed and the books will be opened. Take courage and do not fear your enemy! Keep doing what God has told you to do.
