SET YOUR FACE LIKE A FLINT. I was on my run the other day, passing through the neighborhood and a guy yells out to me, “I could set my watch by you!” I laughed. This may come as a shock to you, but I love to run. Well, I have learned to love it because I have been DILIGENT to make running a part of my life. Even on vacation, I run. It was said of Jesus that “He set His face like a flint”, meaning His mind was set to go to the cross and no one, no friend, no enemy and certainly no devil was going to stop Him from fulfilling His purpose.
Is your face set like flint? That no matter what, you will pursue the things of God? And that nothing can stop you from reading His Word, praying, fellowshipping with the saints, serving others, giving, making the church a priority, pursuing the plan God has got you?? “For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.” Hebrews 10:36
See, I don’t believe God requires us to be “perfect” not in the world’s sense, that we never fail or get it wrong sometimes. A just man falls seven times, but gets up eight- DILIGENTLY GETS UP. Perfectly faithful. He just asks us to continually seek and pursue Him and His righteousness. He asks us to be diligently FAITHFUL. He has set a race before you and it is required that you FINISH and never quit. Could someone set their clock by your spiritual example? Or are sporadic in your running? #runyourrace
