FOLLOWERS WHO DO NOT FOLLOW? What kind of king runs a kingdom of rebellious and disobedient inhabitants? Not a very good king. There is a fallacy being perpetuated among Christians that I call “easy believism”- those who say they believe in Jesus, yet live life on their own terms. They do what they want, how and when they want, go where they want, wear their own garments calling them His righteousness.
Isaiah foretold of our generation, “And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, “We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel; Only let us be called by your name, To take away our reproach.”” Isaiah 4:1 I have studied this Scripture for years, it has no place in history except the end time, lukewarm church. Seven being the number of completion, the last church in history, people want to be called by His name; but live on their own terms.
The Greek word for “believe” is “pisteuō” a form of this word is also used for the word “faith” and it always refers to a trust in Jesus for salvation conjoined with obedience to Him. It is having a faith so deep that one has given themselves over to Jesus- heart, soul, mind and body. Scripture overwhelmingly states that this faith has given up all rights to oneself, one’s desires and even one’s physical life. Faith says: “I am not my own. I was bought with a price. He governs me and I live under His rule.” Belief and obedience are inseparable. No kingdom can stand where obedience is lacking. “Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” I John 3:24 NKJV#runyourrace
