FOOLISHNESS

FOOLISHNESS

FOOLISHNESS IS SIN. I’m not sure how this has happened, but many professing Christians are leaving the Bible. My husband had a conversation with a man about a Biblical world view. There are current statistics showing that anywhere from ONLY 2-6% of professing Christians have a Biblical world view. This means that less than 6% hold the Bible as God’s infallible Word and live according to Scripture. Which means about 95% of professing Christians do not hold to the standards of the the Word of God.

It’s been a slow boil getting to this place. The enemy has sought for years to undermine Scripture and today you have influential leaders like Andy Stanley telling you that you no longer have need for the Bible. That our faith is just centered around the cross and so all we are commanded to do is to tell people about Jesus and be like Jesus.

I get it. He is somewhat true. But which Jesus are you sharing with people? Remove Jesus from the Bible and you have your own made-up, Build-A-Bear Jesus, who just loves and hands out candy and flowers and expects nothing of His followers but to “love” and live life on your own terms. How do you instruct people? And what is your definition of love?

I’m not sure if you know or understand that one cannot separate Jesus from the Word, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭1:1-3‬)

Once you separate Jesus from Scripture, you have left off knowing Him. You leave off instruction in righteousness. You leave holy and just laws in exchange for lawlessness. You leave instruction. You have left wisdom.

Guess what? You have become mindless and senseless, putting yourself under the category of the infamous “fool”. “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”” Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬

Jesus tells us that “foolishness” will defile a man. He actually puts “foolishness” in the same breath as “murder”. Interesting. This word “foolishness” is in the Greek “aphrōsunē” translated as “senselessness, reckless”. It stems from the root word “aphrōn” that properly means “mindless, stupid, ignorant, egotistic, rash, unbelieving”.

So you might say that foolishness is doing something without using your mind (mind-less). Enter a whole generation of mindless, senseless , professing Christians who have foolishly put away the Word of God believing their own egotistic thoughts and vain imaginations about the Lord, exalting folly.

Jesus tells us that this “foolishness” defiles a man. The end of foolishness is only destruction and eternal damnation. Currently, our ladies Bible study is going through the book of Proverbs, which contrasts the foolish and the wise. It would be wise for you to familiarize yourself with that book. The wise woman builds her house, the foolish plucks it down with her own hands.

The wise walk with the wise, the fool has a fool for a companion. Fools despise wisdom and instruction. A fool is right in his own eyes and trusts in his own mind. A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but the wise keep silent. The fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his own opinion. The wise man is cautious, but the fool is reckless.

A fool is quarreling. The wise considers his words. And the most damning Proverb, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”, for which the opposite is true: the fool lacks a fear of God, he is mindless, senseless and egotistical. Jesus told many parables contrasting wise men and foolish ones. The wise build their house on a firm foundation; the fool builds on the sand.

The wise virgins go out prepared to endure until His return, the foolish do not prepare and so are shut out of His kingdom. The wise discipline their flesh, the fool is controlled by his flesh. The wise are instructed in the Word of God, the fool disregards God’s holy law. “

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.””‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:24-27‬ ‭NKJV

‬‬Omit the Bible and it’s moral law, standards of righteousness and holy instruction and you have placed yourself in the presence and company of the fools. You defile yourself. You might as well be a murderer and a thief.

Your end is the same: destruction. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs‬ ‭9:9‬ ‭#runyourrace
