FORTIFIED

FORTIFIED

“THIS CEREAL HAS BEEN FORTIFIED with 11 vitamins and minerals” means the cereal has had vitamins added to increase its nutritive value to strengthen your body. A fortified house has been provided with defensive works as protection against attack. Fortify then is to increase, strengthen, make stronger, establish, make more courageous in order to withstand an attack.

We have been given mighty weapons of fortification- the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, nail-spiked shoes founded upon the gospel of peace, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, the shield of faith, the blood of the Lamb, the name of Jesus, the word of your testimony. But here’s the kicker, you have to use these weapons. A sword does no good if it’s never taken out of its sheath. You can’t run over rough terrain unless you put on your shoes. Those fiery arrows of the enemy hit deep into your heart without a breastplate or a shield. Get the picture?

The enemy seeks whom he may devour and you are his prey when you leave yourself in a position of easy attack. The wolf always attacks the weakest sheep. “The prophet came to the king of Israel and said to him, Go, fortify yourself and become strong and give attention to what you must do, for at the first of next year the king of Syria will return against you.” 1 Kings‬ ‭20:22‬ ‭Why will you suffer needless damage from the enemy? Fortify your walls and he cannot spoil the city.
