- Psalm 126:3 The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad.
- What has the Lord done for us (Read what he has done)
- It’s pretty special that we have made it 18 years. Many church plants fail. Many churches don’t make it
- Today, publicly we say “the Lord has done great things for us and we are glad”
- I love the God life. I love being in this church. We have a great God- and we have great people. We do great things
He has delivered us
- Most importantly- he has delivered us Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
- I praise God that we are no longer under the power of darkness but we have been put in his kingdom
- The kingdom of darkness is full of hate, discontent, fear, unforgiveness, pain and misery
- The kingdom of God is love, peace patience kindness and joy in the holy Ghost
- Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me,And delivered me from all my fears.
- HE does! He delivers us from all our fears and I praise God for it-
- There’s lots to be afraid of- I used to fear failure, finances, public scorn, calamity of all sorts- nope.
- 2 Samuel 22:2 And he said:“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
- HE IS- And he wants to be for YOU as well- The strong tower you run to- the deliverer that sets you free!
- Struggling with sin- overcome with fear and shame- and God DELIVERS- He protects
- Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
- You have been set free from the power of sin- you don’t have to let it have dominion over you-
- 2 Peter 2:9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
- There’s a power source sitting right there for the taking- one that can set you free- one that you can be set free from temptation
- I used to have a donut problem- but I prayed and asked the Lord to deliver me- owner had to sell
- Joel 2:32 And it shall come to passThat whoever calls on the name of the LordShall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be [b]deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.
- If you are struggling- call on the name of the lord- call on him- ask him to set you free!
- 2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
He has set us
- 1 Corinthians 12:18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
- I feel safe in the house of God-its literally a sanctuary Deployed- tires down in Maryland- I was safe in USA- Now I safe in God
- This house of God- this sanctuary was meant to be a place of refuge- a place to be safe
- Its why church infighting and Gossip is so damaging- done by unsaved people-
- If you’re a continual gossip and destroyer- I question your salvation-
- But here’s the good news- people can’t even destroy God’s church- they can’t do it
- Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it.
- No demon, no politician, no government, no wolf can destroy the church of God- they cant!
- Ephesians 2:20-22 READ
- We are a holy temple to the Lord- This isn’t a place for songs and handshakes- we make the Gates of Hell tremble because of the gathering of the saints of God- the demons shudder
- Ephesians 1:22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
- The enemies camp- its one of my favorite old school worship songs- “under my feet”
- Satan aint gonna break me or our church- he aint gonna do it.
- We have each other- we are the Body of Christ- the visible representation of Jesus-
- Ro 12:5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
- But it takes us all- we all work together- he has placed us- put us together as his church
- Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
- We’re going to continue on- we are going to do what he has asked us to do
- Most importantly- hold to the doctrine of the Bible- and hope for his return- in HIS house
- Hebrews 3:6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope [a]firm to the end.
He has protected us
- Can you testify that the Lord has protected you? For me- its 18 years at FVC
- But he has protected me my whole life- through deployments, danger, and downturns
- He’s protected me from financial destruction, from relationship destruction, and health stuff
- He has protected me from the evil of society and the pain of this world- he has protected
- Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
- Now- it says that the weapon will not prosper- but it doesn’t say that it wont be formed
- And those weapons formed against you they have not prospered- you may have seen it, and felt it- and were affected by it- but it did not prosper!
- Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
- That’s where I am going to abide- in the shadow of his wings in that secret place
- The world may not understand it, and frankly- they don’t have to understand it- I can dwell there- in his shadow- with his power around me and through me-
- Hanging with my brother- “hey he’s with me” – That’s how our God rolls-
- So what do we do
- Be of Courage- Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” WE CAN BE COURAGEOUS- Say “I will get through this with God’s help”
- Run to HIM Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are [a]safe.- If you need from God- go to God- Don’t try to do life on your own-
- Call on him !2 Samuel 22:3-4 READ
- We have been through some ‘Situtations’ over the past 18 years- yet here we are- God saved
- He 13:6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
- Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
- 2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
- And that’s what he has done- and that’s what he will do!
He has provided for us
- Who can testify of God’s provision in your life? Not just money- but provision- abundance- above and beyond can’t contain it God will do it kind of provision
- Who has God given grace to? Who got a job they weren’t qualified for and God took care of you
- 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
- See I believe in the promises of scripture- I believe in the promises of God- and provision is on!
- Deut 28:1-14 READ
- Phil4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
- Every need I have has been fulfilled- not every WANT but every NEED because he is a need meting God- ‘wont he do it’ yes he will
- There were times when we got to the end of the month in the warehouse- check on the last day
- Psalm 37:25-26 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,Nor his descendants begging bread.26 He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed. AND ITS TRUE- Ive seen the righteous STRUGGLE but not FORSAKEN
- 2 Corinthians 9:8-11
- Psalm 84:11 Says “ No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly”
- And that’s a scripture that you can bank on- that’s one that you can trust in-
- Here’s what I know- there’s a bunch of tithers in this church- and I can testify- you are blessed
- Non-tithers don’t like it when you talk about tithing but tithers don’t but I see you- blessed.
- Malachi 3:10 READ
- Some of ya’ll don’t want to take the test to be blessed- don’t want to experience it- no trust
- And here’s where we find ourselves-
- Psalm 36:8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
- We’re planted! We’re in the house of our God- we’re here and he is providing for us as a church!
- How can we buy 3 houses in the middle of a pandemic with no money down?
- People flourishing in the house of the Lord- faithful people experiencing God’s faithfulness
- Therefore I am glad
- That’s right- I’m GLAD- Ear to ear baby. I am GLAD I’m saved. GLAD I’m redeemed. GLAD I’m no longer in SIN. GLAD I’m planted in the house of the LORD I LOVE IT- I LOVE THE GOD LIFE
- I love all of you- and I love our church and I love to worship together, and serve together, and fellowship together, and learn together. I LOVE IT- because GOD HAS DONE IT
- Psalm 126:3 The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad.
- Can we rejoice together that God is good and be GLAD about it- GLAD- Joyful.
- Put on a garment of PRAISE- be GLAD be THANKFUL for what God has DONE and will DO>
- Isaiah 51:11 So the ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
- I love the old song- “he has made me glad- he has made me glad”
- Serving God is supposed to be glad thing- Its supposed to be a glad inducing thing
- Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
- When’s the last time you experienced the joy of the Lord? Its grounded in thankfulness- reminding yourself of what he has done- and it should make you glad
- PRAY Psalm 51:8 Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
- People say they want to experience 1st century church- this is it-
- Acts 2:46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
- Very easy formula- Get together- eat, and embrace the simple-
- Quit complicating it and making it harder to enjoy and be glad- it shouldn’t take that much
- Yes- free donuts today-
- Think about heaven-
- Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
