GO! DO! SAY!
Several hard years of panic attacks, beginning years of ministry. RUN TO THE ALTAR!
Are you willing to GO when God tells you to GO?
Are you willing to DO what God tells you to DO?
Are you willing to SAY what God tells you to SAY?
WHEN He tells you to GO, DO and SAY?
In this next season, we need to be so close to the Spirit and READY and WILLING to obey IMMEDIATELY.
This is imperative.
The time is short, and the window of opportunity will only be opened for a short amount of time. We cannot wait any longer to OBEY HIM.
2 Chronicles 18:1-27
King Ahab and the prophet Micaiah
- Are you living your life in such a way that others around would say, “Seek out _____ to give us a TRUE Word from the Lord”? vs. 6
Contrary to popular opinion, how you live your life reveals your hearts condition.
Your life is revealing something to people….what is it?
A heart that loves the LORD and seeks Him will reveal itself in our speech and actions.
The repentant heart reveals itself.
John the Baptist said,
Matthew 3:7-8Amplified Bible (AMP)
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee and escape from the wrath and indignation [of God against disobedience] that is coming?
8 Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart];
A repentant heart has made a radical break from sin and it shows in EVERYTHING you do.
You become more loving
You become more forgiving
You want to please God for WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR YOU!
Because we know we don’t deserve it, but that He freely gave His blood
Does your life display a break from sin? You will ALWAYS STRUGGLE, sinner vs. sinning
Do your words reveal a heart that loves Jesus?
James 3:1-12New King James Version (NKJV)
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed,[a] we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.
See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.[b]
How do you talk at church v. how do you talk on the job?
What does your FB feed look like? EX: people we know always out at bars, on the lake, partying and drinking
NOT JUDGING, they are displaying their fruit for all to see. It’s a BAD witness.
I am always leery of anyone who tells me they LOVE JESUS, but I see no evidence of it in their life.
Our actions will always display a repentant heart.
1 John 3:7-8Amplified Bible (AMP)
Boys (lads), let no one deceive and lead you astray. He who practices righteousness [who is upright, conforming to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action, living a consistently conscientious life] is righteous, even as He is righteous.
8 [But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].
The repentant heart LOVES what Jesus LOVES and HATES what Jesus hates.
If you have the HS inside you, you have the mind of Christ, the will of Christ, the heart of Christ
Hebrews 1:9
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
- Are you willing to GO and DO when called for, even if it’s your enemy?
- 14 “and when he was come to the king”
Micaiah went when called for, even in the face of someone who hated him. vs. 7
Can I just tell you, it is EASY to GO and DO for someone that you know and love.
We will sometimes go out of our way to DO for someone we love.
But what about the mean-spirited?
Those who mock you?
Jesus said,
Luke 6:27 But I say to you who are listening now to Me: [in order to heed, make it a practice to] love your enemies, treat well (do good to, act nobly toward) those who detest you and pursue you with hatred,
Luke 6:32 If you [merely] love those who love you, what quality of credit and thanks is that to you? For even the [very] sinners love their lovers (those who love them).
Are you willing to pray for those who use you and abuse you?
Psalm 35:11-16Amplified Bible (AMP)
Malicious and unrighteous witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I know not.
12 They reward me evil for good to my personal bereavement.
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting, and I prayed with head bowed on my breast.
14 I behaved as if grieving for my friend or my brother; I bowed down in sorrow, as one who bewails his mother.
15 But in my stumbling and limping they rejoiced and gathered together [against me]; the smiters (slanderers and revilers) gathered against me, and I knew them not; they ceased not to slander and revile me.
16 Like profane mockers at feasts [making sport for the price of a cake] they gnashed at me with their teeth.
Are you willing to DO for them what God tells you to DO?
EX: lady across the street from our town home– Give her the coat.
WE ARE CALLED TO THIS!
- Are you willing to SAY what God tells you to SAY? vs. 13
“I will only say what GOD tells me to say”
Are you willing to STAND UP in the face of OPPOSITION to proclaim God’s Word?
We are far too afraid to speak about Jesus in PUBLIC, pray for others IN PUBLIC, tell someone something they don’t want to hear.
We have too much fear of offending.
We fear what people will think about us.
We fear being persecuted.
THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE BUT PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR!
Yes, have wisdom
Yes, have discernment
But NOW is the time to let the voice’s of God’s children be HEARD!
Acts 4:15-20New King James Version (NKJV)
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17 But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.”
So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
Acts 5:40-42New King James Version (NKJV)
And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His[a] name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
LET ME TELL YOU TONIGHT:
THE CHILD OF GOD DOES NOT WALK IN FEAR BUT IN FAITH!
Would you speak the Word of God if God sent you before the Senate? Even if you were told not to?
What about the mayor? president?
Will you speak words that please people or please God?
Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
Do you have the courage and boldness to speak God’s Word to this generation?
The world wants you to shut up.
Its OK to believe and have an opinion on anything as long as it’s not the truth of the Bible or Jesus.
EX: My friend in the toe shop, statue of Buda, she brought in her Bible, excitedly sharing
YOU KEEP SPEAKING GOD’S WORD!
EX: I was praying down at Kent station with someone, and the table next to us left. Even left their half drank drinks
LOVE is not RUDE or disrespectful, if you are TRYING TO CREATE A SCENE AND PUSH YOUR WAY, this is the wrong heart condition. “I’ll do what I want to do”
NO- “I will do what GOD wants me to do”
But, if you are honestly sharing the Word, sharing His gospel, sharing His love—-
DON’T SHUT UP!
This culture is COUNTER CULTURE to God’s ways.
People need to SEE and HEAR Christians LIVING and SPEAKING THE GOSPEL.
The world needs the TRUTH now more than ever.
There is a GREAT FALLING AWAY taking place, the Bible calls it the GREAT APOSTACY
BUT, there is a FINAL HARVEST that we need to go out and REAP!
God is speeding things up, the time is short- the sower and the reaper are in the field together.
- Are you willing to make a fool of yourself for God? vs. 23
Micaiah looked foolish in front of all of the prophets and the kings, and then was slapped.
God might asked you do something that looks CRAZY!
We serve a supernatural God, who does CRAZY supernatural things!
Ezekiel laid on his left side for 390 days (Ezekiel 4:1-5).
The prophet Isaiah was commanded by God to walk around stark naked and barefoot for three years
Three years, people. That’s three winters. That’s no protection against the cold breezes, gawking eyes, and nothing between your sensitive toes and sharp pokey things on the ground.
Are you ready to strip down for God?
Ezekiel had to eat cow dung
Jeremiah was ordered not to attend any funerals or show sympathy for those in grief because God’s patience was exasperated
End with this:
2 Samuel 6:14-16New King James Version (NKJV)
Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
