ANY MANIPULATION OF SCRIPTURE to make us speak peace and righteousness to the carnal, fleshly man; is evil. Peter said, “ignorant and unstable men twist Scripture to their own destruction.” Why has Scripture been twisted? The enemy has been hard at work bringing in the great delusion to God’s holy Church. ‭”Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,” 1 Timothy‬ ‭4:1 Those days are here.

‬The enemy is whispering in people’s ears, “Did God really say?” The word “faith” here is not translated as “faith in Jesus” as we know it; but is translated as “a doctrine, Scripture”. So it’s more closely rendered, “some will depart from Scripture”. Interesting. They will claim to have a faith in Jesus, but it is not according to Scripture. No God-breathed Scripture, no Jesus.

Our whole faith is based on the Jesus of the Bible and His atoning death and resurrection. I heard a preacher say, “just accept God” with not one mention of the repentance of sin, death to self, or the bloody Cross of Christ. You cannot accept Jesus without the Cross. Today’s church preaches a Cross-less Christianity and no Cross means no peace; no Cross means no reconciliation; no Cross means no cost; no Cross means no death; no Cross means no true life; no Cross means no hope for eternity. Have you forgotten the Cross?

“So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
And I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown”
