“Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.”
Psalms 119:97 NKJV
The Bible is truly a wonder, the words never change but they are always fresh and new, they are always satisfying and applicable. The words of God touch us in a way that can’t be fully explained with simple words, reading it is more satisfying than any earthly pleasure. It’s no wonder the psalmist declares “How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psa. 119:103). The “word of God is living and powerful” (Heb. 4:12), it’s not simply a book we read. Through it we hear from the living God, through it we are changed and molded by the hands of God. Oh, how I love His words! “Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold!” (Psa. 119:127).
Is this your heart also? Do you meditate on His commandments and His words? Do you see that the gate is narrow and the way is difficult and afflicted, yet you have still determined to follow Him? Many of those following Christ departed from Him when they found His ways to be too difficult for their flesh, “But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68).
Father, I pray that all who read this would be drawn unto You, that you would lift them up and seek them out, that none would fall away but be kept in perfect peace. I pray that all those who belong to You would grow in their love of Your word and Your Son, and I thank You for the fellowship of believers. I pray that all who hear the words of Christ would come to realize what Peter did, that You hold the words of eternal life. In Jesus name, amen. #CalledtoBattle
