GOOD INTENTIONS

GOOD INTENTIONS

WHERE DID HE GO WRONG? When did he go wrong? I think most followers start off with good intentions to serve God. But where and when did it all go wrong? When did Judas decide in his heart to betray Jesus? He didn’t start off that way. He was one of the 12 chosen men to follow Jesus and who would in turn “turn the world upside down”. God had good plans for Judas. Yes, someone had to betray Christ as it is written, but it didn’t have to be Judas. The Bible records of him, “This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.” John‬ ‭12:6‬ ‭I’m sure he loved the authority he was given over demons and the power to heal the sick. He operated under God’s power and anointing. Jesus fully loved him; yes, he was loved. (contrary to what people say, “they just need to be loved and they’ll change!”)

So what was the problem? His heart. Peter has a bad day, Judas had a bad heart. You can be fully loved, given great gifts, even the anointing of God; but if your heart doesn’t change, it’s fruitless. If you don’t fall in love with Jesus, it’s all for naught. When the Spirit comes in, He works on your heart and your mind; BUT YOU have to put in some work. You have to begin to align your beliefs with His ways. You have to crucify your fleshly ways. You have to put to death avarice.

Don’t think because He’s so gracious and that you are operating under His anointing that He’s pleased. God knows your heart and this should put an awe in you. Keep your heart pure before Him, guard your heart with your life. Stay at His feet, humbled and submitted to Him and keep His Word hidden in your heart as to not sin against Him.  #runyourrace
