GRIEF OVER SIN is evidence of true saving faith, “I see the treacherous, and am disgusted, Because they do not keep Your word.” Psalms 119:158 The love of God’s Word and righteous precepts and at the same time a hatred for sin and all unrighteousness and rebellion against His holy Word warrants the seal of God’s approval.
Ezekiel was granted a vision into heaven and heavenly events. Judgment and destruction must come to Israel. A nation that had been so blessed by God and turns away into idolatry and all sorts of evil, must receive judgment. Enter America. The Lord commanded an angel, “and the LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”” Ezekiel 9:4
And to six more angels, He commanded to kill all the wicked who transgressed His Word. Those who were loyal to His Word were spared the coming judgment. Their loyalty was determined by their love for righteousness and their grief and hatred toward the sins committed around them. They received a special mark, a seal, of identification on their foreheads that they were not to be touched by the coming judgment.
I could preach on this for hours, (for there is another sealing of Israel coming) but the bottom line is this: to be loyal to Jesus, you must be loyal to the Word. So many want Jesus without obedience. They want the Holy Spirit without loyalty, “And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”” Acts 5:32
God does not change. Those who genuinely belong to the Lord will grieve just as He does when they see sin and immorality in the world and in the church. The righteous love what God loves and hates what He hates. Do you grieve over sin? Or are you so blind and your conscious seared that you cannot distinguish between what is good, holy and true and what is wicked and evil? Woe to those who call good evil and call evil good. #runyourrace
