HOARDED MANNA ROTS. Maybe you know the history of Israel and how the Lord rained down “manna” (translated-what is it?) from heaven. God gave them stipulations for gathering the manna: only collect enough for your daily needs. Any manna that was leftover until the next day rotted. God was showing His people that He would daily provide for them. It’s the first part of the Lord’s Prayer, “Give is this day our daily bread”.
God will provide daily. But there’s another principle: hoarded manna rots. Greed is like rottenness in your bones. Whatever God has given to us, is meant to go through us. The gifts and talents of God are not your own, they are meant for the Body. Prayer is not meant just for your benefit, but we are to intercede for others. Prophecy, healing, words of knowledge and wisdom, administration, gifts of help and exhortation, generous giving— all these are gifts of the Holy Spirit meant to be shared, not hoarded.
“Your” time doesn’t really belong to you; time belongs to its Creator. For that matter, your body is not your own. You were bought with a price! What do you have that was not given to you? “Give, (Give what?? ALL things He asks you to give) and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”” Luke 6:38 The law of reaping and sowing is always in effect. God’s ways are so much better than our own. When greed creeps in, give it no place. Generosity will destroy greed’s hold on you! #runyourrace
