THERE ARE TWO WORDS that describe the song of the angels and the redeemed in the heavenly chorus: holy and worthy. “And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.””Revelation 4:8, 11 ESV“Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!””Revelation 5:11-12 ESV
Let me ask you an all important question: if the heavenly chorus sings out, “You are holy” and “You are worthy”; are you living your life as if these two exclamations are true? One day, you will stand in His presence and bow before Him. Will you be able to say that you modeled a life of holiness according to the Savior? After all, we are transforming day by day into His likeness. Holy primarily means “separate, holy”. He is completely separate from all creation and all evil and is absolute in purity and holiness. The repetitive nature of this word in the heavenly chorus shouts the superlative nature of God’s infinite holiness.
God’s holiness is His first and foremost quality that is praised; not “love, love, love” or “good, good, good,” but “holy, holy, holy”. This is God’s nature and character immediately encountered in His awesome presence. The Lord spoke thus to Moses, “Take off your sandals for place you stand is holy ground.” The apostle Peter quotes the OT Scripture when telling the church, “but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16
Without holiness, no man shall see God. When did holiness become passé? How and when did the church lose its command to “be holy as I am holy”? Who told you that you could act, speak, dress, live like you wanted? Since when is it ok for a godly woman to dress like a prostitute? I’m asking a serious question. How are you holy showing all parts of your body to the world and topping it off with Scripture?
We have a real problem in the body of Christ. That’s so judgmental! Really? Shall I take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Ladies, cover your body; it is a holy temple. You don’t have to look like a pilgrim, but stop dressing like a prostitute. If you dress to provoke a man to lust after you; then you are in sin. Does a man need to cover his eyes? Yes. But you are responsible to not make a man stumble needlessly. Men, you are responsible to cover your daughters. You are a negligent father if you allow your teenager to wear whatever she wants. This is godless. Come out of the world and be holy!
What’s with all the pictures of Christians drinking and partying? This is not holy, but godlessness. You need to repent. It is more than just a poor witness, it is presenting lewdness and evil. God will require it if you. If He is worthy, then are you treating Him as worthy of all praise, glory, and honor? “saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”Revelation 7:12
Is your life lived as one incredibly thankful for His indescribable gift? Are you lifting Him up in honor, or yourself? If all honor and glory is His and He is worthy of all; then are you giving Him all? Do you think that if you don’t give Him all honor and glory here in this earth that you’ll give Him all honor in heaven? You won’t. Give honor to whom honor is due- is all honor not due Him? Read the life of Paul, he took no honor or glory for himself. He had a revelation of the worthiness of our Savior. Did Paul die for you? Did I or another? Did anyone on this earth translate their righteousness to you? No. Only Jesus.
He is worthy to receive all glory and honor and praise, all day, every day; not just during your Sunday morning worship time or whenever you hear music. It means we live our whole life surrendered to Him, “walk worthy of the calling”. I beg you to take this seriously and repent. You will give an account to God. “Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate (holy), says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.””II Corinthians 6:17-18 NKJV#runyourrace
