IF GOD IS NOT IN CONTROL of your time and schedule, you are. If He is not in control of your money, you are. If He is not in control of your relationships, you are. Guess what? IF God is not in control of your life, you are; THEN you are your own god. This is the prevailing spirit of the church, “I am my own god”, I can do what I want, go where I want, speak and live how I want, spend how I want, attend church when I want, and still call myself by His name. Exactly how are you then being led by the Spirit IF you are in control? “Those who are controlled by the flesh cannot please God” Romans 8:8 Romans juxtaposes a life controlled by the flesh v. a life controlled by the Spirit. “Those controlled by the flesh do mind the things of flesh”. The carnal mind only cares about self, how to please self, and preserve your way; it makes little or no provision for God. God is not in all your thoughts. Your thinking is, “how does this affect me?” Instead of “how does this affect God?” There’s no where in Scripture where half-hearted devotion pleases God. It doesn’t. The people who followed Christ in the Bible left EVERYTHING. If I’m not fully devoted to my husband, my eyes will wander and another will enter my heart. We are His Bride. Do you have wandering eyes? Take notes from the adulterous bride Israel, “Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, So have you dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel,” says the LORD.”
