Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.
Matthew 26:13
It’s amazing what one act of faith and love for Christ can do. All over the world, for as long as the gospel has been preached, this show of affection towards Christ has been discussed and remembered. A woman known for her sinful acts and shameful behavior (Luke 7:39), now remembered throughout history for her response to Jesus Christ. It was with love, faith, and repentance that she responded to Him, and her life would never look the same because of it.
I was that person once, the one who the world saw and rejected because of my past. I’ve been told I was worthless, that I would never amount to anything. I’ve been looked down on and turned away by many, but never by the Lord. He accepted me when others wouldn’t, He lifted me up despite my past and my mistakes. He’s rescued me from poor decisions time and again.
I remember the moment I gave my life to Him, the change wasn’t immediate, but it was consistent, and my life changed direction. I went from an abusive marriage to a loving one, a poor father to a loving one, addicted and suffering to healed and free. A little at a time, Jesus changed my heart and my life, but it began with repentance of sin and acceptance of Him as Lord over my life. Though the world may never remember our name, the Lord will never forget those that live for Him.
