I AM IN NEED OF MERCY. And I would say, so are you. Without His mercy, we would all be sunk and lost forever. It’s because of His great mercy that we are given a way to draw near to Him. It’s His mercy that allows us to dwell in His presence and escape His wrath. It’s His mercy that forgives all my sins and washes my guilt and shame so I can look upon Him and enter His throne room with a clean heart and pure hands. It’s nothing I have done, I couldn’t earn it and don’t deserve it; it’s His mercy. “For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;” Psalms 103:11 NKJV But notice, His mercy is in abundance for those who fear Him.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Why? Because it swings wide open the door of His mercy. Continue reading on in this same psalm, “so the LORD pities those who fear Him” and another “but the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting upon them that fear Him”. Are you hearing this today? God shows mercy to those who truly fear Him. The fear of God is a redeeming holy awe of a mighty God that motivates us to turn away from evil and our unfruitful sin, to keep His Word and to seek the Lord’s nearness and grace.
There are blessings for those who fear Him! His mercy, loving kindness, forgiveness, His fatherly love, compassion, His faithfulness and goodness….ALL to those who fear Him. But when you bite and attack others and cause division, when you slander and gossip and are selfish, when you operate in pride and continue to live in your sin; you display a lack of fear for God. It’s not too late to turn from your wicked ways and cry out to Him today. For He is great in mercy and ready to abundantly pardon those who truly fear Him. #runyourrace
