HE GIVES MORE GRACE. While it’s sometimes true that “hurting people hurt people”, we make excuses for bad behavior. The Bible declares that the sinful nature is to blame. Cain rose up and murdered his brother because he was jealous. Saul sought to slay David because he too, was jealous. Judas betrayed Jesus because he was greedy of gain.

We are told that we do evil to others because of our own fleshly desires. “Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” James‬ ‭4:1-2‬

‭Some major sources of conflict among Christians are: selfish desire for recognition, honor, power, pleasure, pride, money, superiority, and jealousy or coveting. All these stem from operating in the flesh and not submitting to the Spirit. We are told, “Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee.” God gives more grace to the humble, the one who submits and humbles himself to the ways of the Almighty gets grace upon grace. However, He resists the proud and arrogant. He resists the unyielding and obstinate, “I can do what I want to do” types.

Do you understand? This is pride and God resists the prideful. I don’t know about you, but I want more grace. I need more grace. Therefore, in any and all situations, whether I am right or I am wrong, I will bow down in submission. Because of submission, I have power to actively resist the devil and he will flee! Then, I will walk in freedom because I sought His ways above my own selfish desires. This, my friend, is a daily dying of self in Jesus name. Appropriate this grace. #runyourrace
