NARROW PATH

NARROW PATH

HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS unto the churches. Antinomianism, which means “against the law,” was a centuries-old heresy whose basic tenet held that Christians were not bound by traditional moral law, particularly that of the OT. Instead, man could be guided by an inner light or “belief” of right and wrong that would reveal the proper forms of conduct. It is the doctrine of the Nicolaitans found in the book of Revelation in which our Lord says, “I hate”.

Antinomianism is then conviction-less Christianity. It sees repentance as a single event, not to be repeated. Walk the aisle and then just wait for heaven. Sermons are no longer to expose our sins, allowing us to admit our faults and confess them freely. The Christian life is more about ignoring sin and resting on a foggy concept of grace, make me happy instead of holy.

Christ’s messages to the seven churches reveal that it is the inherent tendency of God’s people to err, to accept false doctrine, to adapt to evil and the world. From times of old, the people of God trend toward spiritual stagnation, decline and apostasy. Yet, throughout history God always has a remnant of the righteous. A small group who walk contrary to the crowd and obey the Word of God. These live according to the Spirit and not the flesh. They know they are pilgrims on this earth, just traveling through. Their roots are planted in His kingdom and in the Son. They will not be moved or swayed because they love His name and cling to His Word.

Will you be found among the remnant few?
“Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ #runyourrace
