And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13
My need for the Lord does not depend on my circumstances. I need Him as desperately in times of prosperity as I do in times of distress, but it’s our nature to relax and become complacent during peaceful and prosperous years. Israel often needed times of persecution and distress to turn their eyes to heaven and cry out to God once again, but times of prosperity would draw their hearts to idols and self-reliance.
Your need for the Savior doesn’t change, there will never be a moment in your life when you need Him less than at other times. In seasons like this, when the whole world is looking around, you must continue to look up. There is fear and distress for many, opportunity and benefit for some, but the Christian must remain focused on things above because anything can become a distraction, even those things that seem good.
Don’t lose sight of Him, there’s never been a moment that He wasn’t in control. Trust Him, but do not test Him! If you do not know Christ, now is the time to seek Him. The world is being shaken, but this is only the beginning of woes. Everything that’s happening right now is a foreshadowing of what’s to come, the economy will recover better than ever and we will enjoy several more years of abundance before the true crisis strikes.
We are being given time to prepare, to repent, to seek Him before it’s too late. Soon the world will know that He is God. He will bring signs and wonders with increasing magnitude, yet many will harden their hearts still and speak against Him. The time is near, the door is closing. Repent, all you nations! For who can stand on that great and terrible day of the Lord?
