OFFENSES

OFFENSES

YOUR OFFENSE STINKS. People think they are so sly, hiding their offense behind flattering lips and a fake smile. I remember a couple that was married at our church and went on their honeymoon and returned the following Sunday. I saw them in the parking lot and asked a silly question, “How’d you kids enjoy your honeymoon?” To which the man replied back with a harsh and mean tone, “we are not kids!” Wow. Come to find out he had been offended over something that had happened at his wedding, that he had misconstrued. Instead of talking to my husband about it, “what did you mean by this?” decided to get angry and hold on to his offense.

Honestly, your offense stinks. Its a putrid smell of decaying flesh. It’s self righteousness masquerading as, “I was done wrong! YOU did me wrong and I have a right to hold it against you!” Hello? This might hurt, but you have NO right to hold ANYTHING against anyone, especially if you call yourself a Christian. You have NO right to point your self righteous finger. The Bible talks about “righteous judgment”, but in order to operate in righteous judgment, you have to know ALL sides. You’re allowed to judge another’s fruit, but never the motives of their heart.

Just because it appears a certain way, does not mean it’s that way. Your self righteous offense stinks! “You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge (offense) against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.” Leviticus‬ ‭19:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
