WHAT DISPLEASES GOD? We all know of King David and his triumph over Goliath, dancing before the Lord, uniting the kingdoms, a mighty man of valor and a man after God’s own heart. But there came a time, when his victories piled up and his carnal passions were let to roam freely and he displeased the Lord, “And when her mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.” II Samuel‬ ‭11:27‬ ‭This word “displeased” means that David was “spoiled” in God’s sight. God in His mercy waited a year to see if David would repent, and perhaps his following miseries could have been avoided. God had to act.

A good Father disciplines His sons and daughters. It begs the question, “What actions displease God?” YES, you can displease God. Here’s a few, “A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among the brethren”. Pr‬ ‭6:17-19 Yep, you read it here, ONE WHO SOWS DISCORD in the church.

It displeases God when you gossip, slander, are selfish and self-seeking. It’s more than a “tsk tsk”. It’s a “unless you repent, prepare for a hard time”. God doesn’t play around. He means what He says and says what He means. Want to please God? Love Him, keep His commandments and love the brethren.  #runyourrace
