WATCH AND PRAY, lest you enter into temptation. People want to run and do, but if it is not in the power and strength of the Almighty, it is in your own strength. Our Lord told His disciples, “Watch and pray”. What if Peter would have heeded these words? He might have been able to fight off the devil’s invitation to deny Christ. Watch and pray.
Watching requires that you see and understand what is happening. You understand that this is the most crucial time of history. The watchman calls out “the enemy is coming!” from far away because he has been alert and waiting on the wall. The watchmen sounds the alarm of God’s Word. Watch and pray.
Praying implies your reliance is only on our Redeemer and you understand that this enemy cannot be fought in the natural. Praying requires you discipline your flesh and lift up your eyes to the hills. Prayer shuts out all other voices that are screaming at you, mocking you, accusing you to “do this” or “do that”. Prayer is in humble submission to your only Lord and Savior, King of kings and Lord of lords and you will only do His will; when He tells you to move and if He tells you to move because not every battle is your battle.
Watch and pray so that you may stay in His perfect will and that those temptations from the enemy, (no matter how much you think you are doing “good”, a good thing is not always a God thing and disobedience opens the door to a demonic attack) do not trip you up and cause you to stumble. “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”” Matthew 26:41 NKJV #runyourrace
