PREACH

PREACH

PREACH THE WORD “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭4:1-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Preach the Word and you will offend people. Teach what the Word says and people will come out of the woodwork to attack you in order to make themselves feel better about their poor choices. Why do you get offended at the truth? If your past is truly under the blood of the Lamb, you should rejoice at the preaching of truth. If you still have condemnation, there’s an issue inside you; not the Word.

You can have a dirty rotten past, make lots of mistakes and STILL preach the standard of God’s holy Word. In fact, the true preachers and teachers are called to teach the full authority and standard of the Word. But because people have itching ears and are always looking for a loophole; they will get angry and reject the standard.

God does not change His standard for man. He is faithful and He is merciful to forgive all who repent; but He still has a standard. He has standards for men and women, marriage, raising children, work, fellowship, relationships, and pretty much any other thing we need for this life and godliness. Just because I did not meet the standard, does not mean I cannot teach the standard.

Your story and your experience do not always line up with the standard of God’s Word. That makes your story the exception, not the rule. You do not have to have guilt or shame for not holding to the standard in the past. If we repent of our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Walk in the power of a new creation in Jesus. But do not change or alter His Word for your experience. Let God be true and every man a liar.
