PRONOUN

PRONOUN

WHAT IS YOUR PRONOUN? I was running a few years ago and saw two boys playing. I smiled and one boy waved and said, “HI!” to which I waved back and said “HI!” I overheard the other boy ask him, “Who’s that?” and he replied “It’s her”. I chuckled.

A few years before this, I was running with my old dog Ranger and a group of my son’s friends saw us and yelled, “Hey, its Gabe’s dog Ranger!” Not a word about Gabe’s mom, but they knew the old yellow lab. It’s a good reminder to not get too big for my britches. After all, it’s not about me. Oh, I know who I am in His eyes- I’m His child, a princess, daughter of the King, fearfully and wonderfully made. He knows my name. But here on earth, I’m ok with being “that’s her”. It’s not about me. It’s about JESUS.

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” John‬ ‭3:30‬ ‭

He must increase. I must decrease. I’m supposed to make Jesus known, not make Crystal known. Beware of people that want to elevate themselves. Be weary of self-promoters. This only stems from pride and from pride comes destruction. We are living in the days of “men shall be lovers of themselves” and promoters of their own achievements. Those who seek their own glory want their 15 minutes of fame like the rest of the world. Just look at this generation and their videos. The Word says this only brings suffering.

“It is not good to eat much honey; So to seek one’s own glory is not glory. Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.” Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭

It’s interesting that these verses are linked. Therefore seeking your own glory is not ruling over your flesh. If the flesh rules you, then you are not controlled by the Spirit, but still by the sinful nature. Shameful. Paul tore his clothes in grief because the people Lystra were elevating him and Barnabas.

Be careful of people trying to elevate you- it is not about you. It’s about Jesus and what He has done in you and what He can do through you. Elevate Him. Lift Him up. It’s totally OK to be a “her” to the world because He calls you by name. Want a pronoun to go by? Be a her or a him to the world. He knows my name. I don’t care if my name is on my tombstone. I just want it to say, “She loved the Lord Jesus”.

“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.” Jeremiah‬ ‭9‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭
